Nextera’s next-generation autonomous mobile robots and robotic arms are being deployed in a variety of environments – from warehouses to production floors, to construction sites.
Responsibilities:
- Own design and prototyping of custom robot parts and modules
- Analyze and optimize mechanical properties
- Test and evaluate materials for performance and durability
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes
- Lead prototyping and assembly of mobile robot fleets
- Support robot deployment and field operations
You will work closely with our world-class software engineers in Boston to bring cutting-edge robots to life. This role involves experimenting with different approaches and off-the-shelf components to optimize for accuracy, development speed, and manufacturing cost.
Requirements:
- 3+ years full-time experience
- good working knowledge of mechanical design, proven experience with Solidworks or Fusion 360
- hands-on experience with rapid prototyping tools including CNC mills, 3D printers, laser cutters, manual tools.
- strong portfolio of completed projects from past jobs, co-ops, internships, project-based classes.
- excellent time management skills
